Music Munchout

Check out the FUN games we played.....

some of you were very good at LIMBO!

The Candle Game..

The Wibbly Wobbly Race!!! ( it was a laugh to watch you!!! :)

Remember the sponge and sieve!!!

The sponge soaked up everything out of the bowl (the good and the bad) and the sieve caught the good and let the bad go.

We spend hours listening to music. Some
of us go to sleep with the radio on, wake up to it, leave it on when we're studying and only turn it off when we watch TV! We might say "we don't listen to the words," but we need to understand that all the time, the words and messages are going in to our subconscious minds. Music can manipulate people and get them to do things. You can be controlled by the things that you listen to. If the main messages coming through are good and positive, then that's how they will affect our minds. But if the main messages are negative or promoting a wrong lifestyle, then we will find ourselves drawn more and more towards those attitudes and lifestyle.

So that's why we have to be a sieve when we are listening to music - throw out the songs that we know talk about things that are wrong, and fill our lives with music that we know are good.

Well, have a fun week everyone, looking forward to seeing you all again this Friday --- THE LAST NIGHT OF THE TERM!!!

Luv,
your DZ leaders

Are you different?

Of course you are different. We are all different. That was what we talked about this Friday night. God created us all individually different. He did not want robots, everybody the same, but originally made us the way we are. We are all special to Him. We explained this with the help of a bunch of cups. You can drink out of all of them, they all had a handle, the all were round and they all were handy. That is just like us people. We all have a head, look human, etc. But we also have different opinions, interests and thoughts. And just because someone is different in sports for example, doesn’t mean you can write the person off. Everybody has his or her own personality, usefulness and uniqueness. We must learn to appreciate and value these differences to be able to work as a team, in living together as husband and wife and in friendships and family relations.

We also tried to show the differences in people in the sit down if game. You all seemed to feel a bit hesitant to show your differences.

You had a chance to practice your shaving skills. I would feel very uncomfortable being shaved by most of you as the balloons you had to shave did not all survive…

We all know that you love musical chairs, but sitting down on a wet sponge or a bit of shaving cream is a nasty surprise in this variation of the game.

Trading jellybeans is one of your favorites, as you get to eat them at the end of the game. We also like this game as leaders because you are nice and quiet for the talk right after the game, because your mouths are filled with jellybeans.

The purpose of our life is that we should glorify God and enjoy Him forever. With all our differences we can together or individually glorify God in our daily life. Start this by praying to God, as this is the way of talking with Him. Also read the Bible, as this is the way of God talking to us. Please, write us an e-mail or a text, or maybe ask us on a Friday night about God. We would love to explain you more about Him and give you a Bible.

Tongues...

our TONGUE !!! what can we use that for??? we learnt how we can use it to play games and also how how we can use it to say nice and nasty things. lets think about how we use our tongue this week .....

We played lots of fun and crazy games where most of them we had to use our tongue in some way. First to get us all going we play the straw game where we had to compete again each other's teams and see who could be the first to get all these piece of cardboard back to the team. had to suck them up with a straw and then run across the hall. what fun...

Next it was time for some tongue twisters.... and well done to you three, how did the flour taste??? Then for the wobble to use up some energy again .. fun fun

and then came the real fun the eating games.... well lucky those who got to do the first game that at least tasted nice, but did not look very easy .. eating ice cream with only your tonuge!! don't try it at home!

We also had a discussion and talk about how we could use our tongues... we need to think before we speak and remember to say NICE things about other people instead of name calling and being nasty. we may get in touch wtih your parents and caregivers and see how much improvement you made this week!

have a GREAT week every one and remember think before you speak.

look forward to seeing you again next week.

luv, Your DropZone Leaders.

any one got any ideas for a night in the holidays??? themes and ideas? let us know and we may use them to make up the program. ..

Geeks, Dweebs and Radical Dudes!

This night we learnt about names, why it is important to remember names and how to. How? Using RAW:
Repeat
Associate
Write it down
Repeat the name, Associate it with something or something about the person e.g. Jim - gymnasium or Stacey - has nose piercing, and write it down to remember it better.

This night we also found out how fast you guys can jump through a hula-hoop as a team. The first time all the teams finished at the same time, so we ran it twice to get the best as winners!

You always love the scavenger hunts, but this time we put a little trick in it to check if you all had handed in your cellphones... a few did turn up...

There is nothing wrong with your long term memory, as we found out in the names quizzz. Names of sport stars, presidents, local people and DropZone leaders flew through the sky. But who knows what the name is of the best car brand in the world? (No, its not Ford, nor Holden, nor Lamborgini, nor Ferrari... but Toyota of course, duh)

You have no problem with inventing funny names for yourselves, but to remember the names of the whole group was a mission and a half. But of course, you can always use RAW...

We finished with talking about names used as cursewords, mostly the names of God. We heard that it is called sin to misuse the names of God. A few of Gods names are: Jesus, Christ and Almighty God. We also heard that God wants you to come to him in prayer to confess your sins, to tell Him what you did. He promises that anyone who confesses his or her sins will be forgiven of them. God also desires your heart, which means that He loves to see people living according to what He has writen in the bible, His Word (together with confessing and asking for forgiveness this is called repenting). God provided a way for sinful people to be saved from the guilt of sin and to be able to live with him after this life... Forever. His Son, Jesus Christ, lived a perfect life and was punished by having to die on the cross and receive Gods anger towards sin. So that way He paid the price, took the punishment for the sins of everybody that confesses them to God, and asks for forgiveness. Those people then are allowed to believe His promise of a relationship and life with Him for ever, rather than being punished for your own sins... forever in hell.

You are also invited to do this.

God says in the Bible: "Repent ye, and believe the Gospel." (Mark 1:15), but also: "except ye repent, ye shall all ... perish." (Luke 13:3).

If you wnat to know more about this, or you just want to let us know what you think about it, please get in contact with us. We would love to share this with you.

No photos this time , sorry, camera couldn't catch a ride.
