Another Great Friday Evening

Hi Everyone!
With about 29 of you at dropzone last friday we had another great evening.
The night's topic was 'The Cross'. We started the evening with Stomp the Tail. Everyone is getting very good at this game!

Then we did the Tarp Flip Over where you all stood on the mat and tried to Flip it over while still standing on it. We are going to try this again this Friday Night because the mat wasn't big enough!!!

The Egg Drop was next. You were given limited resources and had to protect the egg from a 2 meter fall. You all did this very well, so well that when we play this game again we will give you less resources.

After this we did an activity to make you think about the topic of the night. You all got a puzzle that would have a shape of the sun when you put it together. There were four different messages on them: Jesus died 4 sinners, Through Jesus your sins can be forgiven, Jesus died even though He was innocent, and Jesus = God’s Son.

The Marshmallow Relay was played next. You had to eat a marshmallow before you got to the next point of the relay. We noticed some cheating in this game which was dissapointing. The last game of the evening was Gourmet Jellybeans. You had to taste Jellybeans and decide which flavour they were. What a yummy game.
After this Martin told you all why Jesus actually died on the cross - to cover for our sins if we believe the things He has promised us. 10 Commandments...

ON Friday night we learnts about the 10 commandment which God made for us. We first played some games where we had to listen to the rules and instructions in order to win the game. Like the coin toss and blind folded walk. Also had fun playing the baby food game ( like pass the parcel ) but too many of you actually liked the baby food!!!!
We then had a group activity of making up 20 rules to make this world and fun, safe and happy place, some really good thinking with some of you. Then Martijn shared with us what is written in the Bible, about how God gave us 10 Commandments (rules) for us to obey to make this world a happy, safe and nice place to be.
Let's see if you can remember

1: You shall have no other gods before me ( God should be NUMBER ONE!)

2: Yous shall not make yourself any graven image ( Don't bow down to anything BUT God!)

3: You shall not take the Name of the Lord your God in vain ( Don't use your lips to dishonour God)

4: Remember the Sabbath Day ( Sunday ) to keep it holy ( Don't neglect the things of God)

5: Honour your Father and your Mother

6: You shall not kill

7: You shall not commit adultery ( adultery leaves a relationship and heart broken)

8: You shall not steal

9: Yous shall not lie

10:You shall not covet ( what things that you do not have .. be jealous)

These rules are all written for us to read in Exdous chapter 20 in the Holy Bible.

Let's see if you can remember these rules in your daily life and make Carterton a nice place to live .

The Fall

Christmas Parade!

Hello to every one. and CONGRATULATIONS to DROPZONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... why??? because we got THIRD PRIZE in the Christmas Parade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well done guys.... all the hard work and creative artist was worth the effort!!!!

Also WELL DONE to all of you who turned up on Saturday... with out you guys we would not have got the prize and we had a super fun day together!! yahoo.

By 11 o clock the GUYS - Wayne, Martijn & Martin had put the float together on our truck ... and it looked super cool.

at 11:30 you all started to arrive and we got on board and added the final touch before heading off down the street to pose for the judges. and we must of impressed them with our bubbles!!! :)

And then of course we went in the parade which was fun but the lollies did not last long!!! hope you guys got some too ???

And after this we went to the Prize giving ... and that was worth it because we got 3rd prize ... AND now comes the news... we got $100.00!!!!!!!!!!! that is soo cool. and you guys have to come up with some neat ideas on how to spend them money... some thing that you would like at dropzone.... tell us leaders and then there may be a suprise when you get back in 2008!!

Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HI every one ...
DON"T forget that SATURDAY is the BIG day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is the Christmas Parade in Carterton... and you all have to be on our super cool DropZone float.... Christmas at the Beach.

So please be at the Scout's den at 11am .....

and be sure you dress like you going to the beach ..... T-Shirt, jandels, sunhat, sunnies and of course some sunblock too so you don't get burnt at the beach . :P :P

we are going to have a B.Q lunch together too ... so you better be there and have fun with us!!

Last Christmas Float Night

HI EVERYONE!
Last night we worked on the christmas float. Most of it is finished now. Wayne finished most of the kites with a few of you. The fish were cut out. One of the chairs was painted PINK. Looks great. All the signs were finished. Because the truck was also at DropZone all of you that were at DropZone jumped onto the truck. 16 kids fitted on it.
Because we had spare time we also played a few games. The first one was Chain-Tag, latter we played Mad-Dash and The Days of the Week. You're all getting very good at the Days of the Week game.
Don't forget that we will meet at the Scout Den at 11am Saturday the 24th of November. That is next week Saturday. The 'dress-code' is a red top, sunhat and sunglasses if you have them.

the work continues..

Well Friday night was a quiet night down at dropzone . hope all of you who went on camp had an awesome time... we would love to hear about it!!!!
so on friday night there was only a few of us there but we did lots of work ... continued painting some fish and sea life, continue to make our sun and Martijn made a chair with some.
it was a great night and thanks for you neat work .

Marking our Float for the Carterton Christmas Parade

Hello every one.
Happy Birthday to Jessica for Saturday and to Zion for on Monday. Hope you both had great days together wtih your family and freinds. And hope all of you on camp are having a great time... and being good!!! love to hear all the stories :)

well what happened on Friday night?? first we had some fun playing some games... jelly bean challenge and WELL DONE JOSH ... you were the first!!! also play a sack race game and donkey
& cows!! we had fun :)

and then we all got to work on different things for our float. Some of you made some super cool kites with Wayne. Some girls enjoyed getting their hands wet and dirty with Steph while making our paper mache sun. And the rest of you showed off your creative skills by designing some fish and a dropzone banner. you guys are amazing.. we are going to have the best float in town!!! keep up the awesome work team and we will work on it again on friday. thank you !

Wacky Toilet Night!!!

WACKO TOILET NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and wacko it was!!! On wednesday we all meet at Drop Zone for a fun night together. and the name of the evening explains it. all our games were about were based around toilets and toilet paper. like hockey with the goals being toilets and the ball a toilet paper!! fun fun. the best game was getting the chocolate bar out of the toilet!!!! fun fun :) loved the look on all your faces as you saw the yellow water in the toilet and a choco bar floating around!!!!!!!!!!!!!! basketball wtih wet toilet paper!! wrapping gifts up , blowing toliet paper in the air, bowling with toliet paper... all good fun we had together!

the whole evening was filled with wacky games and lots of lollies!!! :) and Martijn told us about what Halloween is really about and why it is no fun. Thank you.
