How to React when your world falls apart....

ON Friday night the theme was How to React When your World falls apart!

but to get started we played some crazy and fun games like..... Hidden Treasure. did the flour taste nice??? and Marshmallow building... wow what neat creations :) Rubbish bag rumble and Move the World were also a lot of fun. Great team work every one!
Martijn then introduced the topice of How to React when your World falls apart ... he talked about how often in our lives things happen and we just feel like giving up and running away. But Martijn pointed out how we can handle these difficult situations ... Over the next three weeks we are going to look the diffrent steps to solve these difficult situations and problems. The first step is STAY IN TOUCH.... stay in touch with our feelings, others and God.
we then had some small group discussions about different situations and how we would handle them. Great thinking....
lastly Martijn wrapped up the evening with a great talk and illustration about what happens when we have God in our life and trust upon him in difficult situations. If we don't have God then we are like the balloon that just goes pop when we are under pressure but if we have God in our life we are able to stand up to the pressure. Pray to God to help you.

Have a GREAT week every one . don't get wet in the rain !!

Beating the bullies

Everybody has experiences with bullies. They are quite a pain for their victims. On friday night we learned how to stand up and 'beat' the bullies.

We discussed our experiences with bullies and how we handeled that in small groups.
We wrapped it up with some great recomendations how to handle bullies. They are:

1. Feel sorry for them and let them know it. Show them that you are willing to be their friend if they treat you better. 2. Stand up to them. when they are abusing you, show them that you're not affected by what they do and that you're not going to run off and hide like they want you to. 3. Form groups to stand up to the bullies. Recognise that a bully will pick on one person one week and another the next.

Most people will feel very intimidated by the bullies and because of that are not able to stand up to them. That is why you are always allowed to ask God for help; to give you courage or to stop the bully. This is another reason why it is so important to have a relationship with God. Most people believe in God, but what they believe about Him differs. The bible tells us a lot about God. One of the important things you can read in the bible is that there is not only a heaven, but also a hell. We dont like to think about that, but if you have not confessed your sins to God and asked for forgiveness, then you will go to hell when you die. That is a very serious thought. God calls everybody to repent and believe. Talking to God is praying. you can pray everywhere and always. God is never too busy to listen to you. He might not answer straight away, but He promises that he will. You can always contact us with questions about faith and religion. We also have bibles for people who want them.

Next week we have a topic about what to do when things dont go the way they are planned.

SCORE your DREAMS !!!

On Friday night we learnt how to Score our Dreams. In the past two evenings at DropZone we have thought about what we would like to be doing in 10 years time. This evening we learnt some strategies on how to make this happen.

S = Set Goals

C = Choose Friends Carefully

O = Order our Priorities

R = Resist Bad Peer Pressure

E = Experience is worth listening to.

So to tie it all up, remember that the decisions we make today might effect us even in 10 years time. And if you want to be able to achieve your dreams remember SCORE.

Have a great week and we'll see you all again on Friday

Relationship with God

On Friday we had a special guest speaker. He introduced himself as someone who was a fisherman and a shepherd, yet he never touches fish or sheep. He was a minister….

Last week a few of us talked about some things that we want 10 years from now. One of the most important things to want for 10 years time is to have a good relationship with God, This is what our guest speaker spoke about.

Remember the flopped bread. It failed because the ingredients weren’t right. When we have a relationship with God we also need to have the right ingredients. Here is the list ….

- Water = knowledge. We learn about God by reading the Bible, attending church, and talking to others about Him.

- Salt = respect. We respect God when we talk respectfully about Him, especially when we use His Name.

- Sugar = loyalty. God is always loyal to us, He never lets us down and we need to return that same type of commitment to Him.

- Oil = communication. We need to communicate with God through praying to Him. The most important thing that we need to talk to God about is the things that we have done wrong. God is ready to forgive people that ask Him for forgiveness, but we need to ask Him first.

- Yeast = serving. When we serve God we have to be ready to give up everything for Him, and by showing others that God is important to us.

- Heat = spending time. No bread can cook without heat, and no relationship can grow without spending time with the other person. That’s the same with God, we should try to spend time praying, reading the Bible, going to church, and learning more about God.

Wow ---- that is a lot to remember for one evening. We really hope that you can take some of it on board and practice it in your life …

God bless you all
